Rainmaking still leaves you stuck if every file needs you.
Origination is how work arrives. Leverage is whether that work can move without the founder touching every step.
Two different jobs
Most owners treat origination as the whole business. They hunt files, sign files, and then stay inside the files. That looks like growth. It is usually a bigger personal caseload. The test is simple: if you stopped taking new work for two weeks, would the existing work still move, or would the firm stall because you are the system?
What leverage looks like
Leverage is a signed matter that can be opened, staffed, and pushed toward cash without you as the daily bottleneck. That means named owners for intake, records, treatment follow-up, and client communication. It does not mean you never rainmake. It means rainmaking is not also case management, bookkeeping, and staff backup.
What this is not
This is not a pitch for intake software or a firm brain product. Tools do not create leverage if the owner still has to bless every step. If new work cannot move without you, buying another channel just fills a funnel you already cannot process.
